One of my great passions are detective series like CHICAGO PD and NCIS. I consulted my artificial intelligence engine, GEMINI, to determine whether the search for Nancy Guthrie (84), mother of NBC host Savannah Guthrie, would benefit from techniques used in TV series. Real-life authorities use “by the book” strategies, whereas TV series often fight fire with fire and partner with criminals to obtain the specific information needed to solve the crime. So far, the “by the book” strategy hasn't worked, and it's becoming increasingly tempting to copy TV detectives...
