DONALD TRUMP'S DREAM OR REALITY...

A friend asked me if I would like to meet Donald Trump in person at the White House... 

During my various careers, from my days as a young journalist in Quebec City to Ottawa with Brian Mulroney or with Pierre Péladeau at Quebecor, I had the opportunity to meet many celebrities and wealthy people in person. In the end, none of them were really superior to normal people in society. Being rich or famous does not make a person superior. 

Luck, fate, and social status determine a person's role and image. 

I have sometimes been disappointed to discover the true personalities of celebrities and wealthy people, although often celebrities are fundamentally very ordinary people outside of their public roles. 

To answer my friend's question specifically: I have met Donald Trump once, at a social reception in Ottawa (Donald was a close friend of Brian Mulroney). But I have never met him in private. It is said that he is good-natured, very polite, and respectful towards his loved ones and friends, but he has created an image of himself as a fighter to connect with his audience and survive the competition. 

All these celebrities and rich people create a role and an illusion for their audience! The reality of their personal lives is always much more sober and less magical... 

But one thing is certain: I like Donald Trump's style, panache, boldness, and courage!
