According to a former Liberal leader with much in common with Carney, Michael Ignatieff, as explained in his book, Fire and Ashes: Success and Failure in Politics (2013, Harvard University Press):
“I thought I was in an election. Instead, I was in a reality show and in three parallel universes.
Me and my party were in one world with our ideas and program; our opponents were in a total other world, and the voters were in a third world far from the other two...”.
The winner of an election is the one who understands that to win, he must dominate all three worlds.... ”
Conclusion: Mark Carney and Pierre Poilièvre have quite a challenge ahead of them, especially given Donald Trump's total mastery of all three worlds...
