PAUL ST-PIERRE PLAMONDON ET L’ART DU MARKETING  - Par Bernard Bujold -  En marketing, il existe une règle incontournable! Vous ne pouvez pas obtenir tous les clients sur le marché et vous devez proposer un produit différent de celui des autres marchands. C’est exactement ce que fait Paul St-Pierre Plamondon avec son concept de référendum.  Son projet de référendum est unique par rapport aux offres des 4 autres partis et le place dans une position bien en vue sur le marché. Il est évident que Plamondon ne séduira pas l’ensemble des électeurs, mais avec 5 partis qui convoitent 125 sièges, il n’a pas besoin d’une majorité absolue pour gagner.   LE MEILLEUR AMI DU PARTI QUÉBÉCOIS EN 2026… Par Bernard Bujold - Alors que le président américain aime déclarer que le Canada ferait un bel 51e État des États-Unis, le débat pourrait prendre une tournure plus sérieuse si le Québec et l’Alberta décidaient de se séparer du Canada. Pour qu'un référendum soit déclenché en Alberta, les organisateurs doivent recueillir 177 732 signatures valides (soit 10 % de l'électorat) avant le 2 mai prochain. Au Québec, René Lévesque, qui était profondément un Américain dans l’âme, avait prononcé un discours devant l'Economic Club de New York le 25 janvier 1977, où il avait comparé l'accession du Québec à l'indépendance à la Révolution américaine, espérant un rapprochement économique très sérieux avec les Américains. À l’époque Pierre Trudeau avait cependant convaincu le président Jimmy Carter de s’éloigner de Lévesque et ses militants qu’il comparait à des révolutionnaires cubains… Lévesque s’était alors rabattu sur la France... DONALD TRUMP AND THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD…   By Bernard Bujold -   President Donald J. Trump is dominating the debate in the Davos Forum, and his speech has a major theme: the United States has always been there in the past and has been paying for the world. It was the old world; now it is a different one, where every country should take care of itself and be economically solid. In a way, the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney's speech was an introduction to Trump one, and both are saying the same thing: that we are in a new world and we should forget about the old world, which does not, and will not, exist anymore. L'HIVER DE 2026 - Par Bernard Bujold -  Le mois de janvier est bien entamé et, en ce 20 janvier, nous sommes passés au travers du premier mois de l'hiver 2026 et, jusqu’à présent, la température a été de saison.  Personnellement, je ne suis pas un fan des sports d’hiver et le gymnase est un peu mon refuge. THE PASSION FOR READING IN 2026-   By Bernard Bujold -   I love it when I discover an exceptional author. In my life, I enjoyed many exceptional authors like Tom Wolfe, Dan Brown, Kathy Reichs, and others like them. Now, I discovered another one with the same level of talent: Belle Burden. I discovered her by reading the review of her book (memoirs), "Strangers," in The New York Times.   The book caught my attention because it is a story about divorce, and I am a divorced person myself. But the book is also a book about life, friendship, and how to overcome life in uncharted waters, and how to survive the pain and the emptiness after divorce or the death of a close friend. It also shows how we often do not really know the real personality of our neighbour or spouse. UN NOUVEAU MAGASIN APPLE À MONTRÉAL-  Par Bernard Bujold - J’adore visiter les magasins Apple et je suis un fan de leurs produits. J’ai donc assisté à l’ouverture du nouveau magasin sur la rue Sainte-Catherine à Montréal, voisin de mon autre magasin favori, Holt Renfrew Ogilvy.  Malheureusement, je suis déçu…  J’adorais l’ancien magasin avec son légendaire escalier en verre (concept d’escalier que l’on dit avoir été dessiné par Steve Jobs lui-même). Le nouveau magasin est une copie des surfaces de centre d’achat comme à Dix30, Laval, ou Pointe-Claire. La lumière du nouveau magasin de la rue Sainte-Catherine est magnifique, mais j’aimais mieux le concept sur deux étages avec l’escalier de l’ancien.  Heureusement, ma déception n’est pas si grave car je commande mes produits en ligne… https://www.apple.com/ca/fr/retail/saintecatherine/
